Privacy & POPIA notice

Above & Beyond Premium Visual Media (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This notice explains what we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.

Information we collect

Contact form — name, email address, phone number, the services you’re interested in, a general or shoot location (only if you select photography/videography), and any comments you add.

Shop orders — name, email, phone, and billing/shipping address, taken at checkout to fulfil and deliver your order.

We only ask for what we need to respond to you or process your order.

How we use it

To reply to enquiries submitted through the contact form, and to process, fulfil, and communicate with you about shop orders. We don’t use this information for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we don’t sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email via Resend, our email delivery provider. Orders are processed through our WooCommerce store backend and Payfast, our payment gateway, to handle payment securely. These providers process information on our behalf and may store or transmit it outside South Africa as part of delivering their service.

Cookies

The shop uses two strictly-necessary, httpOnly cookies (wc_cart_token, wc_cart_nonce) to keep track of your cart between requests. We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

Retention

Contact enquiries are kept in our business email inbox for as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation. Order records are retained for as long as required for accounting, warranty, and legal purposes.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it’s processed. You can also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator if you believe we haven’t handled your information properly.
